Self-advocacy is a sacred act of survival, especially in a world that profits from women’s silence.
Too often, we’re taught that speaking up is dangerous or disruptive—that safety lies in being agreeable, quiet, or “easy to work with.” But silence isn’t safety. It’s a weight. And for many of us, that silence has been imposed—not chosen.
I know what it means to be silenced. Not metaphorically—literally. In classrooms, workplaces, and even conversations where I should have been safe. Over time, I stopped waiting for permission to speak. I started writing instead. That act of reflection became the beginning of everything: my healing, my advocacy, and this body of work. Writing didn’t just give me a voice—it reminded me I had one all along.
Through that journey, I began developing resources that could hold space for others too—women who were navigating wounds, micro-aggressions, cultural silencing, and the daily erosion of self. I’ve taught critical race theory and facilitated social justice workshops at the university level, where I guided students through the deep intersections of identity, history, and power. Now, I bring those same values to And Yet She Thrived—a space where reflection becomes resistance, and story becomes strength.
What I’ve created isn’t just a collection of journals or cards. It’s a growing ecosystem of tools that invite women to see themselves as whole, powerful, and worthy—exactly as they are. Over time, I developed a practice that blends reflection, agency, and embodied storytelling. This approach isn’t about surface-level self-care—it’s about guiding women back to themselves through writing, witnessing, and choosing to show up in the world fully and unapologetically.
If you’ve ever been told you’re too much, too loud, too sensitive—or not enough of something else—this space is for you.
Whether you’re healing, rebuilding, or just beginning to speak up, I offer tools and stories that meet you where you are. Together, we’ll create room for your truth and support your transformation—because thriving isn’t a luxury. It’s your birthright.
Enjoy the Journey!
